August 2026 Update

August 20, 2026

This year, Dimensional Energy has continued to move from promise to practice: building new relationships, sharing our work with industry leaders, strengthening the technology behind our platform, and updating our website for a more complete view into all we do.

Collaboration with Idemitsu

In February, Dimensional Energy announced a strategic collaboration with Idemitsu Americas Holdings Corp. to explore low-carbon fuels and materials across North America. The work includes potential pathways for sustainable aviation fuel, diesel, naphtha, and base oils, bringing together Dimensional Energy's synthetic hydrocarbon catalyst technology with Idemitsu's refining, distribution, and downstream expertise.

As part of the collaboration, Idemitsu will evaluate CO2-derived base oils from the Fischer-Tropsch production at Dimensional Energy's Technology Demonstration Center in Tucson, Arizona. It is a meaningful step toward showing how captured carbon can become useful, high-performance products that fit into existing industrial systems.

Dimensional Energy on the Global SAF Stage

This summer, Dimensional Energy joined leaders from across the sustainable aviation fuel community at the Sustainable Aviation Futures Congress in Amsterdam. CEO Jason Salfi’s panel focused on what it will take to make eSAF facilities a commercial reality, including project requirements, technology development, and realistic timelines. The conversations in Amsterdam reflected a larger industry shift: aviation decarbonization is increasingly about building projects that can be financed, constructed, operated, and repeated. Dimensional Energy's work sits directly in that transition from demonstration to deployment.

VP of Product Siobhan Foley also participated in Trellis Impact in San Francisco, joining a conversation on “Beyond Pilots: Rethinking Climate Tech for Corporate Adoption.” The session focused on a question facing many climate technology companies: how do solutions move beyond pilots and become trusted, long-term options for corporate partners?

Recognition for Decarbonization Innovation

Dimensional Energy was named a finalist for the inaugural Sustainable Aviation Futures Trailblazer Awards in the SAF & Aviation Decarbonisation Technology Innovator category. The recognition placed Dimensional Energy among companies working to accelerate real progress in the aviation sector.

For the team, this recognition is not only a point of pride. It is also a sign that the broader market is paying attention to the technologies and business models needed to turn lower-carbon fuels into a practical part of the future energy mix.

A New Online Look

Dimensional Energy also has a refreshed website this year to make our work easier to understand and easier to engage with. The new site centers on DEFT™ Catalyst Technology and explains how we support carbon-to-value projects through licensing, catalyst supply, process integration, operational support, and broader development services.

The updated site also gives visitors a clearer view of the products Dimensional Energy's technology can support, including sustainable aviation fuel, renewable diesel, lubricants and cooling liquids, and specialty waxes and chemicals. For partners, customers, and curious readers, it is a useful starting point for understanding how cleaner molecules can move from concept to market.

Working with MIT

Dimensional Energy welcomed a new cohort of MIT students to collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams on projects tied to Fischer-Tropsch technology development. Their work focused on advanced modeling, experimental validation, and AI-driven catalyst design.

The projects are designed to strengthen the connection between lab insights, pilot plant data, and commercial design assumptions. In plain terms, they help the team better understand how the technology performs, how it can be tested more efficiently, and how future catalyst candidates can be evaluated with stronger data.

A Recent Spotlight

Dimensional Energy was recently featured in an Arizona Daily Star tech spotlight on University of Arizona Tech Park startups transforming carbon emissions into fuel. The feature highlighted our Tucson presence and the broader mission to turn CO2 into useful hydrocarbons for fuels and products.

It was a timely reminder that the work happening at the Tucson Technology Center is part of a much larger story: using innovation, engineering, and practical partnerships to rethink where essential fuels and materials come from. Drawing on years of innovation and operating experience from the R&D team in Ithaca, the team has enhanced fuel synthesis testing capabilities, advanced next-generation catalyst development, implemented real-time performance analytics, and launched comprehensive durability validation programs. These initiatives are strengthening process performance, expanding operational know-how, and generating the critical data needed to support future commercial projects and strategic partnerships.

Every test, data review, and operating improvement helps create the technical foundation customers and partners need when evaluating new projects.

Celebrating 10 Years of Dimensional Energy

April 2026 marked the 10-year anniversary of Dimensional Energy's incorporation. Ten years ago, CEO and Co-Founder Jason Salfi could not have imagined the growth and accomplishments that the company would achieve.

With four locations across North America, including two steel-in-the-ground demonstration facilities, more than 100 total employees and consultants over the years, four issued patents and 21 additional patent applications filed, Dimensional Energy has surpassed early expectations and evolved from an ambitious startup into a recognized leader in carbon utilization and sustainable fuels. What began as a bold vision to convert carbon dioxide into valuable products has grown into a company that is deploying real-world technology, attracting world-class partners, and helping shape the future of a circular carbon economy.

As we celebrate this milestone, we continue our 2026 focus on turning momentum into durable progress: deepening partnerships, advancing technology, supporting customers, and helping build a future where the molecules that power everyday life can come from cleaner carbon sources.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.
