Q1 2025 Stakeholder Update

Senior Plant Process Engineer Anthony Edu shows off our HFTL produced in Tucson, Arizona

Dear Partners and Friends,

The first quarter of 2025 at Dimensional Energy has been as busy as ever. We are proud to share that we have produced our first batch of high-performance hydrocarbons from our point-source cement carbon utilization project in Richmond, British Columbia. Kudos to our engineering and operations teams for this important milestone!

We have expanded our capabilities for technology testing, built our product sampling capacity, and advanced key partnerships and licensing agreements. We were also the recipient of several awards, were named a top Greentech company of the year by TIME Magazine and Statista, and were featured as a case study of 2024 by our friends at Elemental Impact.

In this update, you will find highlights from our recent progress, a look at what’s next, and ways to stay connected as we continue turning bold ideas in to real-world solutions.

Richmond, British Columbia: Point Source Demonstration

A sample of wax from our first batch of HFTL produced in Canada

As the Lafarge Richmond Cement plant completed its winter turnaround, our team in Canada completed the startup of our first-of-a-kind (FOAK) project transforming carbon dioxide from the cement flue stack into heavy Fischer-Tropsch Liquid (HFTL). We are proud to announce the production of our first batch!

This milestone is the result of years of dedication and collaboration among our team and partners on this project: carbon capture provider Svante and Lafarge Cement Richmond. We are learning a great deal about how to make these projects successful and we look forward to advancing our work to transform hard-to-abate carbon dioxide from cement and other industries.

Ithaca, New York: Research and Technology Development

Our team at the Research and Development lab in Ithaca, New York has surpassed 6,000 hours of testing on one version of our Reverse Water Gas Shift (RWGS) catalyst and 5,000 hours on the latest version, showing its durability and unparalleled sulfur poison resistance. In preparation for sales and licensing, our catalyst toll manufacturer has successfully scaled the recipe with their equipment, hitting and surpassing the desired metrics.

The arrival of an automated Fischer-Tropsch (FT) testing station in Ithaca has also increased our lab's capabilities for continued development and characterization of the catalyst to support our engineering and sales teams.

Tucson, Arizona: Technology Center

CEO Jason Salfi leading a tour of our Tucson Technology Center

Our Tucson Technology Center has been optimizing the performance of Dimensional Energy catalyst technology to support customer needs. This quarter, the team completed the installation of a second RWGS reactor testing station in Tucson, significantly enhancing our capabilities for onsite testing. Additionally, we are in the final stages of commissioning an FT micro-bench system designed for long-term catalyst testing, poison testing, catalyst activation optimization, and other catalyst performance evaluation. This system will support our continuous improvement feedback loop which enhances our FT technology offering to add long-term value for our customers.

In late April, the Technology Center hosted a staff delegation from the US House of Representatives, welcoming the offices of Congressman Chuck Edwards and Congressman Juan Ciscomani as part of the Conservative Climate Foundation’s (CCF) spring tour that also included visits to local Arizona mines and electric vehicle manufacturers.

Many thanks to our visitors and to CCF for organizing the visit and to Elemental Impact and Emerson Collective for their participation and support.

Houston, Texas: Engineering Hub

At our engineering office in Houston, TX, the team has been busy coordinating operations across projects and refining our technology licensing offering with a focus on serving our customers as strategic partners throughout the life of their projects.

The team is currently working with nine masters degree and PhD students from the David H. Koch School of Chemical Engineering Practice at MIT, which offers a unique program that replaces traditional research with hands-on industry experience. We are excited to be collaborating with these talented individuals, mentoring them, gaining fresh perspectives, and advancing our technology!

Dimensional Energy On the Road

Dimensional Energy CEO Jason Salfi spoke at the Sustainable Aviation Futures Congress Europe in Amsterdam on a panel discussing, "The shift away from HEFA: Exploring alternative SAF pathways to meet demand.”

In the last few weeks, he also presented in the Third Derivative Innovation Showcase on Clean Fuels and joined a Launch NY panel discussion about startups and pilot projects. Dimensional Energy has been a member of Third Derivative (D3) since 2023, and Launch NY was one of our earliest partners and supporters. It’s always gratifying to share Dimensional Energy’s start-up journey with others and to learn from other companies bringing climate tech innovation to market.

Also in April, CEO Jason Salfi and CFO John Santoleri attended Elemental Interactive, an annual event hosted by Elemental Impact focused on bridging the scale gap to bring innovation to deployment at speed and scale.

Elemental Impact has been a transformative partner for Dimensional Energy since we joined their portfolio in 2021. Their initial investment and strategic coaching were instrumental in helping Dimensional Energy secure early key partners and launch our technology center, and they continue today to connect us with accelerants throughout their ecosystem and beyond. We are so honored to be featured in the Elemental Impact 2024 Annual Report.

In early April, Siobhan Foley, VP of Product, presented at the Annual Summit and Expo for the Adhesive and Sealant Council on the transition away from fossil-based waxes.

In addition, our Chief Science Officer Dr. Bradley Brennan, gave a seminar in February 2025 to the Cornell University Engineering Department on science, technology, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

Find us next at the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists Suppliers Day June 3-4, at the North American Catalysis Society Meeting in Atlanta June 8-13 and at the American Chemical Society (ASC) conference in August in Washington, DC.

Awards and Recognitions

Dimensional Energy was named one of TIME Magazine’s America’s Top Greentech Companies 2025 and one of TIME Magazine's World'sTop Greentech Companies 2025. As thought leaders in the climate tech industry, we are proud to pioneer a path on the energy transition for a sustainable future.

In March, in partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and with support from DOE-ARPA-E, Dimensional Energy received the Aubin AM Case Study Award from SME. Additive Manufacturing Engineer Bhargavi Mummareddy, with Senior Staff Scientist Huck Milton, and others led by CSO Bradley Brennan, developed a method to assemble and join AM Silicon Carbide components which results in leak-tight seals to hydrogen gas. This marks a significant advancement for high-temperature syngas applications.

Our winning case study highlights Dimensional Energy's continuous pursuit of innovations applicable to our CO2-to-Chemicals platform and the broader chemicals community.

In March, Dimensional Energy was short-listed for the South by Southwest Innovation Awards in the sustainability category. We had the opportunity to join the conference and highlight our innovative technology while making connections with other thought leaders at the conference.
